GigSay

Terms of use

Last updated 15 September 2026

GigSay is owned and operated by Intelligence Limited, in New Zealand. These terms cover using it, and by using it you agree to them. “We” and “us” mean Intelligence Limited.

What GigSay is

GigSay is a platform where organisers sell tickets to their events and run live song requests at their gigs, and where fans buy those tickets and request songs.

Organisers and their events

Each event is run by its organiser, not by us. The organiser is responsible for the event itself, for its details (such as the time, place, lineup and prices), for what they post about it, and for decisions about entry and refunds (see Refunds). Organisers must have the right to everything they upload, such as posters and logos.

Tickets

  • You don't need an account to buy a ticket: just your email.
  • The price, including any service fee, is shown before you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe.
  • Your tickets are emailed to you. Each ticket's QR code gets one person in: it's marked as used the first time it's scanned at the door, so keep it to yourself.
  • A ticket lets you into the event it's for. The organiser can refuse entry where that's reasonable and lawful, for example for unsafe behaviour.

Song requests and boosts

Requesting a song is free. A boost is an optional tip that moves your request up the DJ's queue. It doesn't guarantee the song is played, and you're only charged if the DJ accepts your request (see Refunds).

Accounts

Fans can sign in with a one-time code sent to their email, or with Google, to see their tickets and follow artists. Hosts sign in with an email and password, or with Google. Keep your sign-in to yourself: you're responsible for what's done with your account.

Using GigSay fairly

Please don't use GigSay to:

  • break the law, or mislead people about an event;
  • harass, threaten or abuse anyone, including in song requests;
  • post anything you don't have the right to share;
  • interfere with the service, for example by scraping it or trying to get around its limits.

We may remove content, or close accounts, that break these rules.

Our responsibility

We work to keep GigSay running and accurate, but we provide it as it is. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for an event itself, which is its organiser's responsibility. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986.

Law and changes

These terms are governed by the law of New Zealand. We may update them from time to time; the date at the top shows when they last changed, and using GigSay after a change means you accept it.
