How it works

• Create your host account and your event: its name, time, place and poster.
• Add your tickets: free, paid, or both, in one or more ticket types.
• Share your event's link on WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook or X, or copy it anywhere.
• On the night, scan tickets at the door with your phone. Each ticket's QR code gets one person in.
• Take song requests: your crowd requests songs for free, and can boost the ones they want most.

What it costs

• Listing an event is free, and there's no subscription.
• Free tickets need no payment at all.
• On paid tickets, buyers pay a small service fee on top of your ticket price, shown to them before they pay. It doesn't come out of your price.
• The card processing cost of each order is deducted from your share.
• For example, on a NZ$20.00 ticket the buyer pays NZ$21.50 and you receive about NZ$18.94.
• On song-request boosts, fans pay a small service fee on top, and GigSay keeps a share of each boost. You get the rest, for the requests you accept.

How you get paid

• Payments go through Stripe. Set up payouts from your console, where Stripe asks for your details and your bank account.
• Once you're set up, your share of each ticket sale goes to your Stripe account when the buyer pays.
• Sold tickets before setting up? Your share is held for you, and sent as soon as your Stripe setup is complete.
• Payouts go to your bank through Stripe.
• Boost money reaches you when you accept the request.

What you need

• A host account: an email and password, or Google.
• For paid tickets, a Stripe account, set up from your console. Free tickets don't need one.
• A phone to scan tickets at the door.

Refunds and cancellations

• You decide on refunds for your event, from your console. A refund returns what the buyer paid except the service fee, and your share of that order comes back out of your Stripe balance.
• If you cancel an event, refund every order from your console: buyers get everything back, service fee included. By default, the card processing costs of those orders come out of your balance, and you see the amount before you confirm.
